Finding a job and keeping it is not easy. Well, you might disagree with me but we are in times where jobs are scarce. The luxury of changing jobs has just about disappeared. With people working from home, companies are looking for dependable people who are not under constant supervision. If one loses their job, it may take them sometime before finding another one.
For the young people who are starting out, it would be good if you are not picky. If you are always thinking that you need a better job all the time, then you will find that you lose out opportunities that could have pushed you to where you want to be. Some people started out as volunteers and ended up in the very jobs they wanted in the first place. People do not start from the top, they actually start from the bottom. If you get a job where the pay is not good but you get experience on the job, don’t be quick to turn it down. The more experience you get, the better your chances are for getting your dream job with the perfect pay.
Follow Robert Louis Stevenson’s advice, ‘don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.’ If you are busy looking at the harvest, then you will be discouraged. This is because the harvest does not come in the season of planting. You must give it time before you see the harvest. You may be walking away from a lucrative job or business because you were too quick to get discouraged. Know which season you are in and you will not make a mountain out of a molehill. Work in silence and your results will announce you to the world. At the end of the day, your thoughts will determine how far you go.
