Nat is the mom friend, confirmed.

Y’all, I DID NOT wake up this morning expecting to be blessed repeatedly by the movie trailer god — and yet, here we are! When the god of movie trailers gives, she gives with BOTH HANDS!

What the heck am I talking about, you ask? Well, we just received a brand spankin’ new trailer for the HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED Black Widow spin-off film and THE GOOSEBUMPS I HAVE, YOU ALL. SO MANY GOOSEBUMPS. ONE MIGHT SAY TOO MANY GOOSEBUMPS. WHY AM I YELLING?! Okay, just watch it:

This is the first official new trailer we’ve received for the film since LAST YEAR*, and it gives us some new footage…and did I mention it also gives me GOOSEBUMPS?!

The trailer starts with some flashbacks of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) over the course of her time with the Avengers, as a voiceover assures us she hasn’t always been on the heroic side of things.

Then, we get a little more of Nat’s sister/friend/co-worker, Yelena (Florence Pugh), who I’m already way too attached to, which is not smart because Marvel loves to break my heart:

And we also get to see a little more of Red Guardian (David Harbour) and his relationship to Nat and Yelena, and it’s clear he’s a pretty serious father-figure to our girls:

And of course there’s more of our main antagonist, Taskmaster, who looks ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. My dude’s just out here, casually defying the laws of physics. He looks so O.P., it’s wild. Winter Soldier WHO? Thanos WHAT? Gamora WHY?

Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

But, even with all of that, the most important new bit of info we get from this trailer is that it’s confirmed Natasha is, in fact, the “mom friend” of her group — in case anyone had any doubt:

So, yeah, there ya have it! Be sure to catch Black Widow when it hits theaters (or, alternatively, order it on Disney+) July 9! Until then, catch me crying over this trailer! Okay, bye now!
