People who have worked from home for a longtime will find their former colleagues odd. The time away from each other has definitely brought about the changes in the relationship that they once had. While everyone has encountered the corona virus in one way or another, the experiences are totally different for each person. One person may have had to be isolated for long thereby making him comfortable to be alone. Another may have loathed the time alone because it messed up with his mental status.
So when you go back to your office and find that people are not the same way you left them, know that everyone has their coping mechanisms. They may never be what you remember them to be. Some people may have become lazier, while others may have been working even harder to achieve their goals. Yes, even the goals might have changed a year into the pandemic. You may not be as close to your friends as you once were. So if you find yourself in such a situation, the best thing to do would be to start over. Spend some time knowing the new person you are currently working with. Forget what you knew before, learn to appreciate what your colleagues and friends have been through. You may just release how privileged you really are. And this new relationship may just become better than anything you had before.
