Do you fear your boss or do you respect your boss? Many people will say that they respect their bosses but the truth is they just fear them. When your boss tells you to do something that you know will not work out, do you tell them or do you go ahead and do it? If you cannot point out what is wrong with the responsibility that you have been given, you have an unhealthy fear of your boss. You would rather do what they tell you instead of discussing with them the right way of doing things.
Having respect for someone means that you are able to discuss with them about the very work you are doing. If need be, you can change the mode of doing the work so that you can get the results needed. It is not about who is calling the shots but how to work beneficially together. If every time you see your boss, you are ready to bolt out of the door there is a problem. Why should you look for something to do even on your break just so you can seem to be really hardworking? Respect goes both ways. You don’t misuse the company’s time and the company does not treat you like a slave.
