Dress code at work is a complicated affair. While some work places will expect you to wear suits, other offices will only want you to look presentable. So whether you have a tie or not is not really an issue. Rarely will you find men with dress code issues. Many of the violators are women. It is always a matter of how far is going too far. While women feel that they are being put on the spotlight, there are some things that they should take note of.
First of all, if you are not comfortable in your own clothes then you are probably in the wrong clothes. If you have to keep pulling down or wear a scarf even when it’s pretty hot, then you have a problem. If you find that bending is a no-no, your dress or skirt is probably too short. There are dresses for the party and then there are dresses to wear to the office. You only need to know what your office finds offensive and you are good to go. Don’t wait to be called into the HR manager’s office before you realize that you have gone too far.
